Right now, Jay is thinking... (13.80 / 5)
(yes, believe it or not!)

...where did the week go?!

Sunday already?  Yeesh...

Pass me a bottle, Mr. Jones...

D'oh! (10.80 / 5)
Ah ha!

My feeling was right.  It isn't Sunday yet!

We still have 94 minutes of Saturday left as I type here on the Left Coast.

You Easterners really need to slow down, stop and look around once in a while!

;)

Pass me a bottle, Mr. Jones...

Just think (12.20 / 5)
how mishima feels about us Easterners and you Westerners.  ;)

Especially love that (12.25 / 4)
second pic.  It looks like it should be from a fantasy-based computer game (well, they all do, really).  Anyway: like it's from a game I would love to play.

"What's For Dinner?" at Big Orange tonight was about a corn pesto recipe.  I'm sure it was better than the recipe sounded...but it did remind me that, if you make pizza at home, pesto makes a delicious pizza sauce.  Just skip the tomato-based pizza sauce and use pesto instead.  If you have access to it, it's worth using fresh mozzarella for that pie, too.

This independent pizza joint near me in NYC used to do a specialty pie (yes, you could buy it by the slice too) using pesto as the sauce, and topped with a bunch of veggies including cut-up baby artichokes.  I loved it!  But never tried the artichoke thing at home, and I'm not sure how the restaurant did it, either.

me too, Youff (13.50 / 4)
I love 'em all, but that second one jumped out at me - a peaceful farmhouse by the water, with so many beautiful gardens... a guy can dream, can't he?

yeah (12.75 / 4)
there's something in a thatched roof that just calls to me...
& i agree w/you two... i could live there...

"Hey dad, wanna have a catch?" (14.00 / 4)
Just watched Field of Dreams earlier...

Ray Kinsella: Hey... Dad?
[John turns]
Ray Kinsella: [choked up] "You wanna have a catch?"
John Kinsella: I'd like that.

Gets me.  Every. Time.

(sniffling...)

Okay, that's a definite Top 5 film scene.  I should make a list of my Top 10...

This scene, the cemetery face-off at the end of The Good, The Bad and The Ugly, Rocky getting up that last time and Apollo dropping his shoulders in disbelief in Rocky, "I coulda been a contendah!", etc etc...

Pass me a bottle, Mr. Jones...

field of dreams (14.50 / 4)
is one of my all time favourite movies

y'know, those ones you could watch over & over & over again

thanks, sister (13.40 / 5)
these majikal pics made my day! and it really is a beautiful day here - everyone's in good spirits, it's sunny with big marshmallow clouds, and the breeze is delicious! I've spent most of the day on the balcony with Dreamer and Ana - J swears that they think they're one of the dogs... they follow me everywhere just like my shadow! gha, our munchkins make me so damn happy!!

beautiful day to you, too  :O)

I have a (12.75 / 4)
wonderful picture in my head of you walking, with Ana and Dreamer following and everytime you stop, they stop, and them trying to look innocent like they weren't following you when you look around.

Its nice here too.  The past few days its been lovely.  The heat is gone and we have pleasant sunny 70s degree weather with a good breeze.  The nights have even been a bit chilly.

:O) (11.25 / 4)
beautiful picture and so true! Ana sure does have the doe eyes down pat... but Dreamer is a snuggler, and loves to chew on my clothes, so when I stop he only sees the bestest opportunity to give ME some scritchins!

and I finally figured out the fascination Dolores has with chasing Juan around... now I just have to convince him to stop going into the yard with dog treats in his pockets!!

Oh goodness (9.75 / 4)
He brought in on himself.  LOL  :)

Better Dreamer chewing on your clothes than one of the goats I think.  He probably doesn't do as much damage.  I'll never forget when Katie was little and we were somewhere that had goats.  She sat down and a few of the goats came over and one started chewing her hair and she let it.  Boy was her hair a slobbery mess when I got the goat off of her.  LOL

[ Parent ]

that's a Great Idea!!
soon as i have some more pictures i'll put up an essay & then link to it!

Okay, so Unitary Moonbat (15.00 / 3)
reposted one of his historiorants tonight at Kos -- this one was about the true history of what we call luddites -- I think I probably read it when it was first posted two years ago but it was well worth rereading.

Anyway, in the comments UM mentioned he hadn't been around much lately & TheFatLadySings told him that so much pie has been flying recently that she wants to do a diary with pie recipes (& mentioned a few of the pies she makes, but, of course, w/o posting the recipes: UM is not a troll, lol.)

So this comment is dedicated to the kossacks among us:  B/c my work schedule is so weird, there's an excellent chance I would miss that diary unless it's either rescued or stays on the rec list long enough for me to find it...but a diary of pie recipes strikes me as perfect for this site.

Whaddya think?  I didn't invite her here b/c she wasn't definite about doing one, although I did drop a reply to her saying I hope if she posts it I am able to read it and she's making me drool.  A quick look at her Orange page makes me think she'd be perfect here:

Oh yes (13.00 / 2)
She would be a perfect fit!  :)
