| Dreamer :: Mindless Eating |
| I saw this on Yahoo News & thought you might enjoy it too.
Mindless Eating: Why We Eat More Than We Think by Dr. Brian Wansink has authored a book with (I thought) some common sense techniques to keep a handle on your eating habits. The premise is to trick yourself into eating more healthily by making some simple changes.
These are all fairly simple to do:
Assessing: paint colour
plate/glass:portion ratio & design of
Serving Location
serving utensil size
noise level of surroundings
tempo of music
placement of healthier vs. processed food
I was led to believe he discusses more simple strategies in the book.
I thought this could help not only those trying to lose weight but also those trying to maintain or even gain weight. By using different plate size or glass shape, varying utensil size or painting your kitchen/dining room a neutral or bright colour according to where you are in your weight plan just makes good sense to me. An easy, almost harmless way to make lifestyle changes that will do you a world of good.
