So I am doing my best to begin to live through my heart, every second of every day, and think happy thoughts for every being I know and also those I dont yet know, and maybe never will. Knowing a being is not a prerequisite for caring about them...

Vote for results, not for promises. It's an eyeball to eyeball poker game all the way to election day.
In other words, the dems can save themselves only by giving people reasons to vote for them.
And the people can save themselves only by FORCING the dems to give them reasons to vote for them.
The dems are employees. You tell your employees that they have only one way to keep their jobs. By producing.

I think we can still make an impact. Not as much as we all once hoped, but I think we still can with little things. As we get older our kids and grandkids need to don the hip waders and let us advise from the bank.

thinking I was all grown up almost 30 years ago... head all filled with so many dreams, ideals... I sure thought I knew how things should be, planning and wracking my brains about how things could be... but I had no fucking clue as to how things would be. such is life, huh?
