Crepuscular Monday

by: Eddie C

Mon Apr 12, 2010 at 20:37:18 PM EDT

Did you know that "when the sun goes down most of the world's animals wake up."

So would you like to see this Monday going gloam? And are you all ready for "Two for Tuesday" with twofers saved up? To get you in the mood, below the fold is a number one hit with a bullet and three threefers.

Eddie C :: Crepuscular Monday
Tonight the clouds were pretty interesting, starting off with waves and scratches.

Then airplanes came from almost everywhere to add contrails.

A little mood lighting.

And a warm sundown.

Meanwhile the Onion has reported that airlines are starting to charge fees to people who are not passengers.

On Saturday I was not home for sunset (14.14 / 7)
But I took two on the fly from the West Side Highway.

The highway has the same view as my apartment.

On Sunday there was no sunset (13.40 / 5)
But the sun came out once in the afternoon.

i love (13.60 / 5)
when the sky does that!
it's like hope shining through...
letting you know there will be light again...

Eddie, (9.50 / 4)
pic number three reminded me SO much of home.

(sigh)  PA will never be home.  It will merely be the place I have to escape for the second time in my adult life.

Yes, I hate PA: how can you tell?

/snark

You could probably use a little (14.00 / 3)
Brandywine Valley.

That should put your PA attitude in a brighter light.

[ Parent ]
a soundtrack.... (14.00 / 3)

these are all gorgeous.....
but tonight my favorites are:
your very first pic
1st in the 1st 3-fer
last in the 2nd 3-fer
1st & 3rd in the 3rd 3-fer....

My favorite is the second in the first 3-fer (13.75 / 4)
I like the lone sail boat in the sunlight and the ripples on the water.

so beautiful, Eddie (9.25 / 4)
thanks for letting me share yours, it's been so stormy here that I haven't really seen the sun since yesterday morning  :o(

It's not what you look at that matters, it's what you see. ~ Thoreau ... and, do no harm

Is it hot there yet... (8.00 / 3)
Or does spring hold on for a little more?

[ Parent ]
it's starting to get warm... (12.33 / 3)
spring's trying to hold on for a little longer, but the avg high in San Juan is already at 86 (it was 90 in Mayaguez today, 85 here in Guayama)

Well 85° sounds great... (14.00 / 3)
on an island.

[ Parent ]
Thank you once again Eddie (13.50 / 4)
You make me want to look up more!
There is a lot going on in these pics really interesting.  Looking forward to your post tomorrow!

Bear Shake Tree Pictures, Images and Photos

I'm looking forward too (14.00 / 4)

Beautiful pics Eddie (14.00 / 4)
as always.  :)

And I really loved the bonus animal pics from the old kos diary.

I'm glad that you opened it. (11.75 / 4)
I went looking for a better link and placed that quote into Google but came up with nothing but my own diary. I learned that from a sign in The World of Darkness at the zoo. Future generations will not.

[ Parent ]
I'd never thought about the (13.00 / 4)
ratio or day versus night animals, but I know I see a whole different crop at night.  I'm going to have to go back and actually read the diary.  I admit it, I was looking at the pictures.

One of the good things about picking my daughter up from work at night is the amount of deer, racoons, coyotes, skunks and opposums I get to see.  The coyotes and deer are out during the day sometimes, but I definitely see more of them at night.

[ Parent ]
Alma, I don't think (11.25 / 4)
I have ever told you how much I appreciate your presence as a blogger.  You and Ria are THE GREATEST.

The same goes for you... (14.00 / 3)

Dude.

[ Parent ]
I feel the same about you Youff (14.00 / 4)
You have wit and wisdom, and dang can you write wonderful ccoking posts.  :)

Hows King Tuts wound today?  I haven't made it to open thoughts yet to see if there's an update there.

Love you Youff!

[ Parent ]
Love you too (11.50 / 4)
KIng Tut might have to heal himself this time.  I don't have the cash to pay for another vet visit.  And he seems a LOT better: you should have seen him flying off his favorite ledge.

[ Parent ]
I'm glad he's doing better :) (12.33 / 3)
He should be okay, and I know you'll keep an eye on it and catch it if it starts to get infected.

My mom has a squirrel thats been coming to her house for years.  It's been coming since before my dad died 8 years ago. He comes and stands against the window to let mom know he needs more peanuts.  About a month ago he came with some nasty injuries to the back of his head, neck, and one ear.  It looked awful, but the little critter seems to be healing pretty good.  Only the part right behind his ear still looks inflamed, but the hair is growing back everywhere else.  :)

[ Parent ]
(((King Tut))) (13.33 / 3)
just knew he'd be ok, Youff! he's a tough little king  :o)

By the way (13.25 / 4)
If you look up "Crepuscular" at the wiki page one of the two examples given is the Photuris lucicrescens;

Also known as the Firefly.

Fireflies seem to (12.50 / 4)
be all over nowdays.  I think maybe we are staging a coup.  ;)
