Today was a very beautiful day in New York City. After a late night I never got out of the apartment and spent the day enjoying beautiful cloud formations and a strong cold breeze. The sky cleared in the late afternoon but the clouds came back for sunset.
The view tonight seemed like a few sunsets, so there are many photos below the fold. I hope you enjoy the show. |

| But first the afternoon view of the cool cloudy day;
The late afternoon sun was so bright that it needed to be cropped out;
Too bright for the camera until the cloud got back into the act;
Good close up view;
After being obscured by clouds, the sun comes out for another showing;
Once again too bright for photography;
Once again a little cropping;
And then the sunset show gets underway, 7:51 PM by the clock in my camera;
I loved the clouds in the last rays of the sun tonight;
And some pretty lights after;
I've always wondered if those almost vertical lines are a rainstorm in the setting sun but I can never get over there in time. |
