My view of the Hudson from the Bronx tonight.

Below the fold is the view tonight in the order that I watched.

nothing like the sun (8.00 / 2)
setting over water.  Love it.  We look southwest here over a lake and get some humdingers we can just never capture it like you that takes talent and good equipment.

"Indeed, if a poor man will spend a year in prison for stealing out of hunger,
how high would the gallows need to be to hang the rich man?"
~The Patrician in 'Snuff' by Terry Pratchett

Wow, what a spectacular (8.00 / 4)
sunset.  I can feel my blood pressure easing already...

Since this is an open thread, an author rec for you & Ria, if you aren't yet familiar with her work:

Mary Gentle.  AFAIK, her first novel was the sf Golden Witchbreed (& in spite of the title, it was sf, not fantasy).  The one I'm about to reread, though, is an historical novel (with, iirc, some fantastical elements):  A Sundial in a Grave: 1610

She's just a marvelous writer, and if you haven't read her yet, you really should at least take a look at some of her work.

English usage is sometimes more than mere taste, judgment and education - sometimes it's sheer luck, like getting across the street.

Thank you for the tip on the books (8.00 / 3)
