| It looked like there would be no sign of the sun today. To the east there was rain coming down past Van Cortlandt Park on Westchester and Long Island.
To the south there was just a glow beyond the George Washington Bridge.
And my usual sunset view was not looking happy.
But there was a glow developing in the right spot.
It became brighter.
And brighter.
And brighter.
I saw direct sunlight for the first time today, a golden glow.
Up close it looks like a wonderful sundown.
A little closer.
Then the sky turned pink.
This was my favorite part.
The sun's last stand came around thirty minutes after its first of the day.
Then a nice soft afterglow.
Have a good night and a great weekend.
The Fleet is in town here. I think I'll go do some naval gazing.
