I woke up at three in the morning (4.14 / 7)
so I could get sick. Not doing too good.

Oh, Eddie! I hope you feel better soon. (11.00 / 6)
That really DOES suck, hence your rating.

English usage is sometimes more than mere taste, judgment and education - sometimes it's sheer luck, like getting across the street.

I just broke out my first... (9.43 / 7)
"Fugheddaboutit", in Eddie's honor.

And if anybody knows about being up sick at 3 AM (shit, I forgot to go to sleep last night myself), it's me...

I make feeling like shit look good, though.

Well, most of the time at least...

4 AM here, I've been up for about 25 hours straight, but I'm ready for another day!

Bring. It. On!

;)

Pass me a bottle, Mr. Jones...

mornin jay! (11.50 / 6)
7am here & the grandbabies have been up for almost 2 hrs. the magic boy got a bad case of homesickness last night & was up until almost midnight... warm milk with vanilla finally put him to sleep. i think they'll be leaving today. :(
we needed you here to be up all night with the boy.....
i'm worn out!
when they go i'm up for an all afternoon nap!

Mornin, Ria! (14.80 / 5)
(just changed my rating above, because screw it.  Eddie never deserves anything less than a 15, I'm a rebel!)

I pop in at odd hours, just to keep youze on your toes...

Heh.

I never could get my daughter to go to sleep, myself.  She was always asking for stories and shit, and I'd make up great ones!

Btw, I'm gonna try to finally do my Friday Open Thoughts this week, but I might miss it again (sorry!) because my father's coming into town for a week-long visit on Thursday.

I do have a few things lined up, though.  Including some great photo diaries.  If not this week, definitely the next few...

Just when you thought Jay was out, he pulls you right back in!

;)

Pass me a bottle, Mr. Jones...

Attention fireflies who (10.71 / 7)
also post at Orange:

This seems to be a trend.  Frequently rec-listed diarists seem to be posting more often right around midnight Eastern, or a bit after.

Bobswern, for example, just posted one not too long ago.  When I got home from work, it was a late one from teacherken (and although I don't know where Bobswern lives, teacherken is in the D.C. area: definitely Eastern time).

I'm starting to think that the best time to hit the rec list is late at night (Eastern).  Fewer eyes; more interest.  If it's a good post, it just might hit.  (If it's not good, it might get ridiculed to death: there's one up with tags like "Spam, spam, spam and eggs" -- I howled.  Don't know who edited those tags, LOL.)

And with that public service announcement, I must go to bed.  Idiot boss scheduled me for 80 hours in a row.  I pointed it out to him -- now it's only fifty hours in a row, one day off, another twenty, one day off, 4 hours of overtime...and then I think I get a day or two off again.

Yes, my schedule is completely fucked.  Thank you for asking.  ;-D

i'm so sorry (13.86 / 7)
for such a shitty schedule.... aaargggh!

People still... (10.33 / 6)
...go over there?

Heh, I'm happy with only going there when asked by a few certain people.  Since I dropped that place from my regular blog rotation about a year ago (I started going there in 2005), my headaches have dropped from 17 a week to one or two...

;)

Btw, the time to "hit the rec list" used to be like 7:15 PM or so Eastern over there.  But when I finally decided to leave, time didn't really matter.  All you had to do was write something like "OMG, Obama is God and Teh Roolz!  Can u beleevez how awesome is teh Obama?!?!?!?!", and you were guaranteed massive support.

I hope things are different there these days, but I can't really say I care either way...

Pass me a bottle, Mr. Jones...

Anyone besides me seeing a little Katherine Ross going on there?

That wonderful smile (15.00 / 4)

I was eleven when I first saw her face and Katherine Ross was the woman I was going to marry until the Summer of '42.

I got two years on you because it was "The Graduate" for me.

but in all fairness;

[ Parent ]
Hey RiaD (13.33 / 3)
I just saw Ms Ross a little bit ago.
I know Sam her husband over the years but never was introduced properly to Ms Ross so I didn`t talk to her.
It may seem strange to people who do not live in proximity to world famous actors, but we all live in the same community.
We non-actors protect the privacy of the actors, but talk to them as neighbors, & vice versa.
There are many not so well known actors who live here also, & are also good neighbors.
The opposite is also true.
There are famous actors who are not liked so much, for there lifestyle, their political views, etc.
If you`d like, I can give you a list of actors I`ve met.
Actors I`ve talked to in the last two months, & that would include famous or popular musicians.
Some I`ve talked to in the last week.
Some I see but never talked to although they openly interact with the public, ie at the market.
Most are even nicer than one would expect them to be.
I`m glad you like Ms Ross.
There are also all the people in our community who are exceptionally beautiful human beings, without being actors.
I see & talk to them every day.
Come on by anytime.
I`d be proud to tour you around.

feel better soon, Eddie (12.20 / 5)

Karmafish (14.33 / 3)
It`s actually a very nice song, musically.

I can never get behind the subject matter since I know little of the struggle on both sides of the I/P debate, only "facts".
I do know that I spent many years with Meyer Ryshpan an older Jewish man, the grandfather of Inga, my girlfriend of 15 years.
I learned so much from him, as the artist he was, & as the man of peace he was.
He died about 30 years ago, & I still have some of his amazing artwork, not to mention amazing memories of our discussions.
I also have another elder friend, who is on his deathbed, Ahmed Shribati, an Arab from Damascus.
He lives around the corner from me & is the grandfather of my granddaughters, as I am, obviously.
The knowledge I learned from them both, makes it obvious they could have been good friends.
Can the I/P situation, ever be resolved peacefully, do you think.
How does this get resolved.

I hope you do feel better soon.
Waking up sick in the middle of the night, might be frightful, I`d imagine.
