And now for the "Random" section, these images are all of the same fish,
a "Six Line Wrasse", but in random  background settings.
This wrasse rarely stops moving so one must pre-focus & wait.
When it swims through the focus range, "Click".

A very sad Engineer Goby.
DSCN9224

I put this series of shots together to show how many different corals are in the life of a single little fish.
The wrasse is less than two inches long.
All the shots were taken in less space than an old Cathode-Ray TV, so now, imagine the Gulf of Mexico, & what`s at stake.

Underwater Flying (14.57 / 7)
Have a nice week end.
I hope the gulf can be saved.

Oh, Knucklehead (13.00 / 6)
I love your little wrasse.

I am afraid the Gulf is dead.

Gha!  I hope I'm wrong.

But I'm afraid.

English usage is sometimes more than mere taste, judgment and education - sometimes it's sheer luck, like getting across the street.

Thank you.
It`s nice to see that little wrasse constantly on the move, varying it`s paths on every circuit.
I just hope the gulf can be saved.
That`s all I can do.

My first real exposure to wrasse (14.00 / 5)
was in Haole in Hawaii's underwater diaries.  He has a new diary up tonight, it's about birds:

I think we are all screaming, along with the Gulf.

Yes, I saw it & commented.
Very very nice shots.

Oh Knuck (15.00 / 6)
highwire act is delightful....

your underwater creatures are heartbreaking with the reality of what is going on.  The last little guy looks like he is crying.  I weep with him and you.

Thank you.
The petite flowers reminded me of the fragility of the gulf.
That sad looking little Goby is also why I included him, a statement of how caring people feel.

Wonderful all, Knuck! (14.17 / 6)
Love the "highwires!"

What an interesting, colorful fish that wrasse is -- the eyes are so interesting to note.

#2 and #14 are my faves -- showing off all the vibrant colors of the little guy!

The Gulf, Knuck?  I'm glad you still have hope! But 54 days worth of this gushing monster catastrophe?  Every day has been/is an aching day!

Merci, comme toujours!

Tahoe (15.00 / 5)
Merci beaucoup, a toi aussi.

[ Parent ]
hauntingly beautiful, knucklehead (14.50 / 6)
your Wrasse and environs are amazing, and you're very sad Goby speaks for me. prayers for the Gulf and her wondrous creatures

It's not what you look at that matters, it's what you see. ~ Thoreau ... and, do no harm

Newpioneer (12.60 / 5)
Thank you.
I`ll probably be focusing on underwater pix till the gusher is stopped to keep the catastrophe in people`s minds about what we all stand to lose.

Great sig line.
