GULF COAST MEMORIAL DAYS

by: KNUCKLEHEAD

(4ish~

)

It`s Friday again, time to temper my anger with a sharing of some of my images from my reef tanks.
You may have noticed that my images are  often of a same specimen.
I liken that to taking more than one picture of your cat, dog, bird, lizard or child.
Every image is a close encounter with what one loves doing with the loved ones one does it with.
I titled this diary  with "memorial days" not because I want to have anyone remember these specimens, but for you to remember the days the authorities wanted you to forget.
They want you to forget how much oil was spilled.
They want you to forget how much was hidden, by the use of toxic dispersants.
They want you to forget the harm they`ve done.
And they want you to forget, they`ve  been trying to make you forget for years.
Well that will not happen. There are too many who will always remember.
Just reading through the blogs, we can see that there are Gulf Watchers everywhere.

Thank you for remembering the GRN (healthygulf.org) (15.00 / 6)
And for all your great photos!

I won't ever forget.

For what little it is worth, whether it is misplaced or not, effective or whatever - I have avoided Exxon stations like the plague for all these years since 1989 when they effed up Alaska's Prince William Sound. I was almost to the point where I had given up on my boycott when they finally weaseled out of most of the monetary damages owed to the people of the region a couple of years ago. Now I don't think I'll ever go to one of their stations again.

Now I try to go to Citgo whenever I can, it drives wingnuts crazy, as if they needed another push into crazy-land from me.

Thank you.
I sometimes forget promises made from one week to the next, but it would hardly be excusable while I`m exhorting people not to.

wow!! More beautiful photos! (15.00 / 3)
Thanks, KH!  These beautiful creatures must. be. saved!

The more things change, the more they stay the same.

mplo (15.00 / 4)
Thank you mplo.
The whole of the planet`s oceans must be saved, not only from oil, & pollution, but overfishing,(I read in last week`s TIME magazine that 300,000 sharks were killed for their fins, just off the coast of Brazil) & most importantly, Global warming.
