These are what call out Fire Flies.
Without the sun setting, we could never see the glow of fireflies.
They should be out soon.

4/20

by: KNUCKLEHEAD

Tue Apr 20, 2010 at 23:40:32 PM EDT

12:30am

A little mention of this day (actually it refers to a time, 4:20 of day), is in order I think, to remind people that this is not an evil plant, but should be a nice addition to those fruit & vegetable gardens we should all have, that soon may be, that we "must" have.
How to use 4/20 in an instruction manual:
4 rolls of twine & 20 bricks, will spread one plant into an area dream.

The power of...

by: KNUCKLEHEAD

Fri Apr 09, 2010 at 20:41:00 PM EDT

A few images to describe the power we have when observing the things around us.
For example, flashing a nice smile will surely be repaid in kind.
Try it.
I walked over from the opposite side of this man, involved in a photo shoot.
I took a few shots then jokingly "directed" that a better pose would be with the sound of his horn.

He had a little laugh as I turned back to loading my groceries, while the "real" photographer was left wondering.

To RiaD
A while back I told you I had a complimentary idea to your "Firefly Bulb".
A "Glow Worm" one.
I may have mentioned I`d use my idea to create a "reality"
Here`s the reality of that idea.
I said you`d be the first to see it.
From the old Terran.

Children

I took offense this past week when hearing that adults phoning in death threats, were acting "childish".
That is not "Childish", it`s very rude & dangerous.
This is what "Childish" is.
The amazing purity of childhood innocence.

The Immigrant

THE IMMIGRANT

The Immigrant

In a world that is now the sum of all that came before, it is astonishing that there is such turmoil.
All the discoveries that have made the world the way it is today, have been from people from around the planet. One would think that working in unison with others, would achieve even more, or at least, in a shorter time period. Yet those who think they have achieved the most, from the same bank of humans we` ve all been deposited into, seem to want to cash in now, & leave other investors broken. This bank is one of immigrants. Everybody came from somewhere.
They came with cures, they came with farming knowledge, they came with engineering knowledge & they came to make a better life for everyone, to all distant locations on the planet. They are the planet. They are the immigrants. We are the immigrants. This is a study in light.
A light that shines on all of us, not a select few. It can not be turned off.
To see more of the light on the immigrants face, click & see this person in different light. See the different moods the light creates. The hope it shows. And be nice to the next immigrant you meet, he is you.

Just things

When things seem to be going south, sometimes being reminded that it could be worse, alleviates our misery, maybe just a little.
For those who`ve not known misery, try & make Les Miserables, a  bit happier.
Sometimes just a smile helps.
These are my friends, mother & daughter, visiting the mountain of crosses in Lithuania.
You can click on the image for more from that set, &/or click the link.
I suggest you do both.
Have a nice weekend.

SEEING RED

by: KNUCKLEHEAD

Fri Feb 19, 2010 at 22:56:22 PM EST

( - promoted by RiaD)

Hopefully by seeing red in another context, the collective anger, pervasive in many of our lives, caused by outside forces, may be tempered by this alternate perspective.
Red is not always the color of anger, since hens can be many different colors.
What!!
Haven`t you ever heard of being "Madder than a wet hen"?
Anyway, here`s a little different kind of red.
